Introduction

A limited liquor licence for a single function allows a non-profit organisation to sell alcohol at a one-off event to raise funds for the group or for a charitable purpose.

Examples of fundraising functions include dinners, balls, conventions, sporting events, performances, exhibitions, seminars, carnivals and fêtes.

Your application will be advertised on the Liquor & Gaming Application Noticeboard for 30 days for community consultation. 

Eligibility

  • a not-for-profit group (also known as a non-proprietary association) such as an amateur sports club, community group, parents and citizens’ association, or charity
  • the applicant/licensee is 18 years or older, and holds a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification (including licensee and advanced licensee qualifications if relevant).

What you need

  • your personal details
  • a OneGov account
  • evidence of your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualifications
  • ABN, ACN or Y/Inc details
  • details about the function
  • details of the premises where the function will be held
  • a copy of development consent or approval
  • proposed liquor trading hours
  • a completed applicant declaration – PDF (if requested during the online application)
  • your payment.

How to apply

  1. Check the eligibility requirements.
  2. Select the 'Apply online' button. 
  3. Register or sign in to OneGov.
  4. Complete the online application form.
  5. Enter your payment details.
  6. Read and confirm the declaration.
  7. Submit your application.
