Alex is an experienced senior executive, having delivered major digital and community-focused initiatives and led strategy, advocacy, and communications units.

As the Executive Director, Disaster Preparation and Recovery, Alex leads a new division within Service NSW to drive improved customer experiences in the face of natural disasters. She previously built a centre of excellence in fraud mitigation within Service NSW, growing the team to around 500 staff at its largest and preventing more than $200m in fraudulent payments.

Previous experience

Alex has more than 14 years’ experience across various NSW Government departments. She has advised premiers and ministers across a range of portfolios including trade, innovation, small business, planning and education. Alex started her career as a corporate lawyer for an international law firm.

Previous roles include Director Advocacy, Media and Communications at the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner, and Director Business Improvement in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Industry.

Alex also sits on the board of Westhaven Ltd, a respected and long-standing provider of disability services including social support, living arrangements and employment services.
