Careers NSW is being established to provide career guidance to NSW residents at any stage of their career. Students and people looking to change careers or further develop their skills will have access to tailored career advice wherever they live in NSW.

When fully operational, Careers NSW will provide a wrap-around service to:

  • connect people to accessible and quality career guidance
  • advise on educational pathways and qualifications that match people to the skills they need to be employed faster.

The service is being designed with major and emerging industries, and we are engaging professional career advisers.

The pilot for Careers NSW will be delivered by Service NSW. The lessons from the pilot will be used for future expansion of the service. Further stakeholder consultation will be a key part of the delivery of Careers NSW.

Careers NSW is a recommendation in the review of the NSW vocational education and training sector led by Mr David Gonski AC and Professor Peter Shergold AC. The review will be released shortly.
