Why we are collecting your personal information
The Settle in NSW program helps new arrivals from migrant and refugee backgrounds to understand and access NSW government services. Service NSW will collect personal information from you to book an appointment with a Service NSW team member who may collect further information from you during your session.
Types of personal information we collect
Service NSW may collect your:
- first and last name
- mobile number and email address
- postcode
- migrant or refugee status
- cultural or religious arrangements needs for the appointment (optional)
- country of origin (optional).
How we will use and disclose this information
Service NSW uses your personal information to:
- create a new appointment with a Service NSW team member
- contact you about your appointment
- help you access NSW government services during the appointment
- book a follow up appointment if you want one
- contact you about your experience finding government services
- other directly related purposes.
Service NSW also uses your information for our internal administrative needs and to support our interactions with you.
Any reports we create on the Settle in NSW program will be for internal purposes only. We will remove all personal information so no one can identify you or the services you requested.
We will not disclose your personal information to anyone unless you provide your consent, or we are required or authorised to do so by law.
Whether you are required by law to provide us with this information
Service NSW will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide you with assistance. Providing us with the requested information is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide us with the requested information, we may not be able to assist you.
