Introduction

If you hold a property certificate of registration, you can add another category of work if you have completed the required qualifications.

If your certificate number:

  • starts with 'REP4' – you can apply online
  • is 6 or 7 digits only – you'll need to complete and submit a paper application form.

You can also remove a category if you wish, and if you no longer need your certificate you can surrender it.

What you need

To apply online you'll need:

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
    • you can create one when you start your application
    • you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence, Medicare card, passport)
  • your certificate number

  • copies of your qualifications in PDF, JPG or PNG format

  • your payment (if adding a category).

How to add or remove

Apply online

You can only apply online if your certificate number starts with ‘REP4’. 

  1. Gather the required documents
  2. Select the ‘Apply online’ button. 
  3. Follow the prompts to add or remove a category.

Apply using a paper application form

If your certificate number is 6 or 7 digits only, complete and submit a paper application form.

  1. Download and complete Add or Remove a Category Application – PDF.
  2. Gather the required supporting documents.
  3. Submit your application in person at a Service NSW Centre, or by post or email to the details on the form.

Privacy

To apply to add or remove a category on a property certificate of registration with NSW Fair Trading, you’ll need to create or log in with a MyServiceNSW Account.

By logging in you consent to sharing your name and email address in your MyServiceNSW Account with NSW Fair Trading, a division of the Department of Customer Service.
