A Companion Card is for people with a significant and permanent disability. When a cardholder buys a ticket at selected venues and facilities around NSW, their carer or companion will be given a second ticket at no charge.

You can apply for a Companion Card by completing a form.

You're eligible for a NSW Companion Card if:

  • you're an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and live in NSW
  • you're a person with significant and permanent disability
  • you can provide medical or allied health reports that confirm a lifelong need for carer support when accessing the community
  • the use of aids and other technologies do not meet your needs.

Note: Eligibility for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) does not mean you’ll meet the NSW Companion Card criteria.
