Introduction

If your business sells tobacco products or non-tobacco smoking products in NSW, your premises must be licensed.

If your business is owned by a corporation, trust, or partnership, you can apply for a retail and/or wholesale licence on this page. Each premises will require its own licence. You can apply for up to 20 licences of the same type in one application. 

All tobacco licences are valid for 12 months.

Eligibility

You must be:

  • aged 18 or over
  • a registered director of the business.

What you need

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
    • you can create one when you start
    • you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence, Medicare card, passport)
  • your ABN or business name
  • a National Police Check completed in the last 3 months – JPEG, JPG, PDF, PNG format
  • a completed Director consent form for each additional director of the corporation (you don't need a director consent form for yourself)
  • your fee payment.

How to apply

  1. Select the 'Apply online' button.
  2. Select 'Start'.
  3. Log in or create a MyService NSW account.
  4. Complete the online application form.
  5. Read and confirm the declaration.

  • You must provide complete and truthful answers to all questions in this application. Under the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008, giving false or misleading information could impact your ability to hold a tobacco licence.
