Introduction
If you'd like a third party auditor to conduct a food safety audit of your business, you can apply for a regulatory food safety audit system.
You need to submit an application to the NSW Food Authority.
- If you use a contractor to provide food service at your facility, they must be included in the application.
- You need to submit a separate application form for each facility.
Eligibility
Your business needs to:
- have an A or B rating from recent audits or inspections
- operate in an industry, and at a risk level, approved by the NSW Food Authority.
What you need
- the PDF form – 'Application to implement a regulatory food safety audit system'
- your NSW Food Authority licence number
- details about the facility
- the contractor's name and position (if applicable)
- written approval from the Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (if applicable).
How to apply
- Check the eligibility requirements.
- Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
- Complete, print and sign the form.
- Submit your application by mail, fax or email, to the details on the form.

- You'll be notified about the outcome of your application in writing.
- The NSW Food Authority will continue to perform audits of facilities that choose not to adopt this system.
