Introduction

If you'd like a third party auditor to conduct a food safety audit of your business, you can apply for a regulatory food safety audit system.

You need to submit an application to the NSW Food Authority.

  • If you use a contractor to provide food service at your facility, they must be included in the application.
  • You need to submit a separate application form for each facility.

Eligibility

Your business needs to:

  • have an A or B rating from recent audits or inspections
  • operate in an industry, and at a risk level, approved by the NSW Food Authority.

What you need

  • the PDF form – 'Application to implement a regulatory food safety audit system'
  • your NSW Food Authority licence number
  • details about the facility
  • the contractor's name and position (if applicable)
  • written approval from the Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (if applicable).

How to apply

  1. Check the eligibility requirements.
  2. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  3. Complete, print and sign the form.
  4. Submit your application by mail, fax or email, to the details on the form.

  • You'll be notified about the outcome of your application in writing.
  • The NSW Food Authority will continue to perform audits of facilities that choose not to adopt this system.
