Use the National Livestock Welfare Work and Rest Exemption

If you transport livestock by road in NSW and are enrolled in the NSW Livestock Loading Scheme (NSWLLS), you can use an exemption to exceed work time limits, without penalty.

Drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles carrying livestock can extend their work time by up to one hour in response to an incident or potential risk to the welfare of loaded stock.

Random compliance checks and inspections may occur at on-road intercepts.
