Report an abandoned or dumped vehicle

If you believe that a vehicle has been abandoned or dumped in your neighbourhood, you can report it to your local council. 

You will need to know the vehicle's:

• exact location
• make, model and colour
• number plate (if available).

How to report

1. Check if the vehicle is registered. 
   Note: Registered vehicles can stay parked in one spot for 28 days provided they are in good order and parked in line with NSW road rules.
2. If the vehicle is:

• registered and you think it may be stolen, notify the NSW Police on 131 444.
• unregistered, or registered but cannot be legally driven due to damage, and it has been in the same place for 15 days or more, contact your local council.
