Rent It Keep It (RIKI) is a free online training course about renting in NSW. This self-paced online course takes about 2 hours to complete and you can stop and go back to it when you have time.
It covers:
- how to find, secure, keep, change, or end a rental tenancy
- your rights and responsibilities as a tenant
- what landlords and agents can and cannot do
- information for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The course is available in:
- English
- Arabic
- Mandarin
- Cantonese
- Hindu
- Filipino
- Vietnamese.
Once you finish the course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. You can use this certificate to support your rental applications.
Who can take the course
RIKI is open to everyone in NSW and is useful if you:
- have a limited rental history
- have had issues with a rental tenancy in the past
- are at risk of homelessness
- are looking for up-to-date information about renting in NSW.

You will need a Rent It Keep It Account. You can sign up for an account if you don't have one.
