Introduction
If you want to change the vessel that's on your private mooring licence, you need to apply to Transport for NSW (TfNSW).
The vessel will be assessed on a range of factors including:
- size and space requirements
- safety of navigation
- the environment and amenity of the area.
Note: As additional approvals/permits from other agencies may also be required, it's recommended you contact TfNSW before purchasing a vessel.
What you need
- the PDF form – 'Application to Change Vessel on Mooring'
- a recent photo of the vessel
- your proof of identity
- your payment.
How to apply
- Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
- Complete the form and submit your application in person at a Service NSW Centre, or by post or email to the details on the form.
More information
- The vessel must be at least 5.2 metres in length, unless otherwise approved by Transport for NSW.
- Concessions (if applicable) are only available for vessels used solely for recreational purposes.
