The Nursing and Midwifery Council of New South Wales is made up of 15 members, including nurses, midwives, community members and legal representatives.
Council members are nominated by the NSW Minister for Health and are appointed by the NSW Governor. The NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association and the Australian College of Nursing also each nominate one member, who is appointed by the Governor.
