About the Authority
The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an administrative agency of the NSW Ministry of Health. It provides administrative, clinical and legal advice and services to the 15 health professional councils of NSW.
HPCA works with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC), in a partnership called co-regulation to manage complaints about health practitioners and students in NSW.
The HCCC has a wider role in complaints management and consults with councils about which agency should deal with each complaint.
