Washing machine allocation reached
There are currently no more washing machines available. This round of the program has closed. If you have submitted an application, it will be reviewed.
To find out when a new round of the washing machine exchange program will be available, subscribe to email updates. Subscribing to email updates is not an application for a washing machine. You will still need to apply for future rounds of the program.
Since 2025, the NSW Government has helped low-income households replace 12,000 inefficient top-loading washing machines with water and energy efficient front-loading machines.
The washing machine exchange program is run by the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Who can apply
You can apply for the washing machine exchange program when it is open, if you:
- are an eligible low-income household
- hold a valid concession card
- have an existing top-loading washing machine to swap
- have never taken part in the program before.
What to expect
If your application is successful, you will pay $250 (including GST), which includes:
- the front load washing machine
- delivery
- installation
- 2-year warranty.
