Community facilities or public assets
If you see graffiti on community facilities or public assets, you can report it directly to the relevant authority that is responsible for the property. These include:
- Ausgrid, for graffiti to their electricity network assets such as electricity boxes
- Telstra, for graffiti to their assets like overhead cables, manhole covers, and payphones
- Transport for NSW, for graffiti to public transport services, stations, stops, or wharves.
Note: The NSW Graffiti Hotline has closed.
On your property
If the graffiti is on your private property, it's your responsibility to get it cleaned. Some options available to you are:
- contact your local council – they may provide graffiti removal kits or a removal service
- report the damage to the Police and get a police event number for insurance purposes.
NSW Police
You can report graffiti and property damage online through the NSW Police Force Community Portal.
If you see someone applying graffiti, you can contact your local police or call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
