How to search
You can access public information online about any of the state’s strata schemes using the free NSW Governement online search tool.
This tool will allow you to search by address or strata plan number.
Note:
- NSW Land Registry Services (NSWLRS) creates and maintains the NSW land titles registry on behalf of the NSW Government. NSWLRS is a private company operating the NSW land titles registry on behalf of the NSW Government under a 35-year concession that took effect on 1 July 2017.
- NSWLRS also has a strata search, visit NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) website.
About strata scheme search results
Search results using the NSW Government tool includes the:
- strata managing agent name and licence number
- strata plan number
- date the scheme was registered
- strata scheme address and local council
- lot information (number of lots and usage such as residential, commercial)
- date of the last annual general meeting
- date the scheme last completed their annual reporting.
To find information about a scheme, search by address or strata plan number.
If the strata plan or address is unknown
If you do not know the strata plan number or exact address, you may be able to find the strata scheme using other tools:
- go to the NSW Strata Hub*
- enter a nearby address.
*The NSW Strata Hub is a web app that delivers a product derived from the combination of multiple feature classes including Land Parcel and Property, Administrative Boundaries and Geocoded Addressing Themes.
Buying a strata property
For more detailed information about a strata property before you buy, you can order a:
- strata search report from a professional strata searcher or conveyancer
- building inspection report from a building inspector
- section 184 certificate which includes financial information about the strata scheme by contacting the:
- strata manager or strata managing agent
- property seller via the real estate agent if the scheme is self-managed.
