The 10/50 Vegetation Clearing Scheme provides an additional way for NSW residents who live near bushland, to better prepare their homes for potential bush fires.

If you live in a designated area you're able to clear certain vegetation near your home without having to get approval from the local council or land services office.

The vegetation includes:

  • trees on your property within 10 metres of your home
  • underlying vegetation such as shrubs (not trees) on your property within 50 metres of your home.

For more detailed information on the scheme, visit the NSW Rural Fire Service.
