Change the registered details for a property agent, real estate licence or corporation licence

Introduction

You must notify NSW Fair Trading of any changes to the information registered on your current certificate or licence.

Time limits apply depending on the type of licence and change. You must notify NSW Fair Trading:

within 14 days if you need to make changes to a property certificate of registration or individual property licence
within 5 business days if you hold a corporation licence and there is a change to the licensee in charge.

To change your phone, email and residential address details:

follow the prompts to submit your request.

By logging in you consent to sharing your name and email address in your MyServiceNSW Account with NSW Fair Trading, a division of the Department of Customer Service. Change your licence details

To change your personal name, business name and principal place of business details:

download and complete the form Change of Details: Property certificate or licence - PDF
if relevant, attach documents to support your request, for example:
- a marriage certificate or divorce decree/divorce order to show a change of name, or
- an extract from the Australia Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) to show a change of business name.

Depending on the change of details you will need one or more of the following forms:

You will also need to provide evidence of the changed details as stated on the form.

Note:

You can check your registered details on Verify NSW Property and real estate agents public register.
If you cannot provide evidence to support a name change, the licence holder's name will not be changed.
A property certificate or individual licence is not transferrable to another person.
A corporation licence is not transferrable. If the business name changes, the ACN of the corporation must remain the same.
