As marine flares contain explosive matter, after they are used or expired, you must dispose of them safely and legally.
The NSW Government runs a marine flares collection program that visits sites in Greater Sydney and coastal NSW.
You can dispose of marine flares at one of the mobile collection sites but only at certain times of the year.
