Introduction

There are 2 types of liquor licences available for surf clubs – a limited licence and an on-premises licence.

If your surf club is a non-profit organisation and you want to sell alcohol to club members and their guests at social functions held on club premises, then a limited licence would suit your club. Under this licence, you can sell alcohol during club functions up to 52 times in a 12-month period.

If your surf club wants to be able to sell alcohol at private events held on club premises, as well as its own social functions, then an on-premises licence is appropriate. Under this licence, you can hire out the club premises and alcohol can be sold at those events.
