Introduction
There are 2 types of Sydney Harbour wharf bookings available to commercial vessel operators – either bulk or ad hoc.
Bulk wharf bookings are made in 6-month blocks and are only available to commercial vessel operators who require reoccurring bookings at specific times, and wharves on a daily or weekly basis.
To make these bookings, complete the application form and submit it in person at a service centre, or email, post or fax your application using the details on the form.
Eligibility
You're eligible for a bulk wharf booking if you operate a commercial vessel, such as a ferry service, adventure ride, or whale watching, sightseeing or dining cruises.
What you need
- a Bulk Booking Application Form - 'Bulk Booking Application Form – PDF'
- company name and details
- vessel name, survey number and details, and
- wharf name and requested time slot and period.

Download, print and complete the Bulk Booking Application Form – PDF by the relevant date as listed on the form.
- Submit your application either in person at a service centre, or by mail, email or fax to the details on the form.
More information
- the booking timetable is April through September and October through March
- applications must be received 6 months ahead of the booking timetable
- the Whale Watching Period is 31 May to 30 November, and bookings must be lodged before the previous October
- nominations received after the due date may be given lower priority
- bookings will only be confirmed once Transport for NSW has received all nominations
- approved Whale Watching Operators will need to provide advertised bona fide tours specifically for watching whales throughout the whale watching season.
