How to search
You can access public information about any of the state’s strata schemes using the free NSW Fair Trading online search tool.
This tool will allow you to search by address or strata plan number.
About strata scheme search results
You can search using a building street address or strata plan number. The registered strata scheme address may differ from the actual street address.
Search results include the:
- strata plan number
- date the scheme was registered
- strata scheme address and local council
- lot information (number of lots and usage such as residential, commercial)
- date the scheme last completed its annual reporting
- link to an interactive map of the location.
AGM and managing agent information
To access additional information about a strata scheme, register and log in to Strata Hub.
Information includes the:
- date of the last annual general meeting (AGM)
- strata manager or strata managing agent name and licence number.
If the strata plan or address is unknown
If you do not know the strata plan number or exact address, you may be able to find the strata scheme using the NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) online tools.
- Go to NSW LRS Online
- Enter a nearby address in 'Search location records' and select 'Search'.
- Use the zoom tools and move the map to find the address you need.
- Select the property to get the strata plan number.
About NSW LRS
NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS):
- creates and maintains the NSW land titles registry on behalf of the NSW Government
- is a private company operating the NSW land titles registry on behalf of the NSW Government under a 35-year concession that took effect on 1 July 2017.
NSW LRS Online offers a 'document inquiry search'. Use this search to check a dealing, deposited plan, strata plan, primary application, or conversion action which are lodged or registered with NSW LRS.

Buying a strata property
Before you buy a strata property you can get more detailed information including a:
- strata search report from a professional strata searcher or conveyancer
- building inspection report from a building inspector
- section 184 certificate which includes financial information about the strata scheme by contacting the:
- strata manager or strata managing agent
- property seller through the real estate agent if the scheme is self-managed.
