Office of the Strata and Property Services Commissioner

The Strata and Property Services Commissioner works with NSW Fair Trading to drive change across industry, government and consumers to enable empowered, accountable, and trusted NSW strata and property services sectors.

The Commissioner:

• oversees strata governance and policy across government 
• helps bring a new focus to strata living, including the implementation of changes as needed
• contributes to the implementation of the government’s approved reforms of strata arising from the 2021 statutory review  
• oversees legislative and regulatory reform in the retirement village sector, including services to assist residents with dispute resolution including mediation
• works to raise performance and accountability standards across the real estate, strata, stock and station and business broking sectors to deliver greater protections and confidence for NSW property consumers.
