About the department

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) s the government agency responsible for protecting, supporting and developing regional NSW.  

DPIRD is dedicated to growing NSW's primary industries and supporting regional economic development to deliver long term benefits to regional NSW, and the state.  The department works with industry and community to implement policies and programs that protect, support, and develop NSW's primary industries and regional communities.
