Feedback and complaints
The NSW Department of Education regulates early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in NSW. It monitors services and providers’ compliance with legislation and approval conditions.
If you are concerned about a child's health, safety or wellbeing while attending an ECEC service contact the department as soon as possible.
You can also give feedback or make a complaint about potential non-compliance of a service.

How to find an ECEC provider
The department assesses providers against the National Quality Standard (NQS) and gives them a rating. The rating can help families choose the best service for their children.
Read more about the quality areas or find out what to consider when choosing a quality service.
You can use the Australian Government's StartingBlocks website to:
- search for a provider by suburb
- find providers by service type or rating
- calculate the child care subsidy.
Note: approved providers have to display an up-to-date compliance and quality history.
