Learn and earn with an apprenticeship
There are more than 120 different apprenticeship courses available in NSW across a range of industries such as construction, cooking, aviation and automotive.
Taking up an apprenticeship means you can:
- learn skills, gain work experience and earn a wage at the same time
- complete your qualification in 3 to 4 years for most courses.
No upfront training costs
With a fee-free apprenticeships you and your employer do not pay upfront training costs while you train for a job. The NSW Government is paying the course cost for new government funded apprenticeships until June 2027.
Eligibility
You can apply if you:
- are a NSW apprentice or NSW school-based apprentice and
- start Smart and Skilled apprenticeship training before 30 June 2027.
Fee-free training is available until you complete your training if you:
- started your apprenticeship training before 1 July 2018 and
- change employer or your apprenticeship course and
- return to an apprenticeship before 30 June 2027.
