Food safety standards are regulated in NSW. This means food service, caterer and related retail businesses need to meet requirements in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
The code applies to school canteens, children's services that supply food, supermarkets, greengrocers, delis, coffee vendors, correctional centres and boarding schools.
The code covers: food safety supervision, food handler training and showing food is safe.
