Apply for boarding house registration

Introduction

If you want to operate a boarding house you'll need to register with NSW Fair Trading. A general boarding house has five or more paying residents. An assisted boarding house has two or more residents with special needs. You can apply to operate a boarding house at a service centre, or via the mail.

What you need

• the Boarding House Registration Form
• your payment, as indicated on the form.

How to apply

1. Download and complete the Boarding House Registration Form – PDF.
2. Visit a service centre and submit your application in person, or post it with payment to the details on the form.
