Travel pass

If you're a blinded soldier, WWI Veteran's Widow/er or Victoria Cross/George Cross recipient (or the spouse or widow/er of a recipient), you're eligible to apply for a travel concession pass.

This pass entitles you and your attendant (if applicable) to free travel on trains, buses, most ferries, and light rail.

You can apply for a free Opal card at the same time. The free Opal card lets you open the ticket gates at train stations (excluding Sydney Airport) and ferry wharves.

For more details and how to apply refer to the Transport for NSW website.

Regional travel

  • Outside the Opal network your pass also entitles you to:
    • free travel on regular local bus services
    • free travel on all NSW TrainLink Regional services and interstate services.
  • Check with Local Transport Operators to find out if they recognise the pass.
