Introduction
A limited liquor licence for multiple functions allows a non-profit organisation to sell alcohol at up to 52 fund-raising functions within a 12-month period. The funds raised may be for the group or for a charitable purpose.
Examples of functions include dinners, balls, conventions, sporting events, performances, exhibitions, seminars, carnivals and fêtes.
Eligibility
- a not-for-profit group (also known as a non-proprietary association) such as an amateur sports club, community group, parents and citizens’ association, or charity
- the applicant/licensee is 18 years or older, and holds a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification.
What you need
- a OneGov account
- your personal details
- evidence of your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualifications
- ABN, ACN or Y/Inc details
- details about the function
- details of the premises where the function will be held
- details of the owner of the venue that will mainly be used for the functions
- details for each function for each day
- a completed applicant declaration form (if applicable)
- a copy of development consent or approval for the licence at your venue, from your local council (if applicable)
- your payment.
How to apply
- Check the eligibility requirements.
- Select the 'Apply online' button.
- Register or sign in to OneGov.
- Complete the online application form.
- Enter your payment details.
- Read and confirm the declaration.
- Submit your application.
More information
- You must inform local police of each planned function at least 14 days before it starts (if this information wasn't included in your initial licence application).
- If you’re holding more than 52 functions within a 12-month period, you’ll need to get approval from the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA).
- Besides the initial cost of this licence, you'll have to pay an annual licence fee.
- Once your application is lodged, it will be advertised on the Liquor & Gaming Application Noticeboard for 30 days for community consultation.

- Your non-profit group might be eligible to sell liquor at up to 6 fundraising functions per year without the need to get a limited liquor licence.
