A conveyancer licence allows the holder to carry out certain legal work in relation to property transactions, such as the:
- sale or lease of land
- sale of a business
- granting of a mortgage.
If you're intending to use a property conveyancer, you should first check that they hold a valid licence. You can do this online.
What you need
One of the following:
- licensee's name
- licence number
- trading name.
How to check
- Select the 'Check online' button.
- Enter the licence information into the search bar.
- Select the search button.

You can also enter a postcode/suburb to locate a licensed conveyancer in a particular area. Information relating to the licence is then available by selecting the licensee's name.
