A conveyancer licence allows the holder to carry out certain legal work in relation to property transactions, such as the:

  • sale or lease of land
  • sale of a business
  • granting of a mortgage.

If you're intending to use a property conveyancer, you should first check that they hold a valid licence. You can do this online.

Check online

One of the following:

  • licensee's name
  • licence number
  • trading name.

  2. Enter the licence information into the search bar.
  3. Select the search button.

  • You can also enter a postcode/suburb to locate a licensed conveyancer in a particular area. Information relating to the licence is then available by selecting the licensee's name.
