Introduction

If you see a NSW number plate which you find offensive or inappropriate, you can make a complaint online, by email or phone. 

A committee of diverse people will review your complaint. The number plates will be recalled if they are deemed to give rise to controversy or public disagreement.

What you need

  • the number plate details
  • the reason(s) you find the number plate content offensive or inappropriate
  • your personal details and email address (not needed if making an anonymous complaint by phone).

How to make a complaint

  1. Select the ‘Make a complaint’ button.
  2. Choose your preferred option (online form, email or phone) to make your complaint.

What happens next

  • If you submit your complaint online or by email, you'll receive a confirmation email. 
  • Complaints will usually be reviewed within 30 days. Urgent complaints will be assessed sooner. 
  • For privacy reasons, you will not be notified of the outcome of your complaint.
