Introduction
The Long Service Corporation (LSC) administers a portable long service scheme for building and construction workers in NSW. The scheme allows eligible workers to get paid for long service even though they may have worked for different employers or as contractors.
If you’re an employee, you should be registered in the long service scheme by your employer. If you’re a contractor, you can register yourself in the scheme.
After your registration is approved, you'll be sent a registration number, which you must give to your employer when you start a new job. Your employer is responsible for updating your service record.
If you're a contractor, a registered tax agent will need to lodge a certificate of service each financial year for you.
The LSC portal lets you manage your portable long service online. You can:
- register yourself as a new worker
- update your contact details
- download annual statements of your service record
- lodge a missing service application
- lodge a claim online
- view your service history
- request support.
Eligibility
You must work:
- in the building and construction industry in NSW
