The Long Service Corporation manages a portable long service benefits scheme for workers in the contract cleaning business in NSW.

The scheme covers full-time, part-time and casual cleaners employed by a business, or self-employed as a contractor, who do cleaning work under contract.

Contracts to perform cleaning work may be either verbal or written.

Registered employers are required to:


You must register with the Corporation within one month, if:

  • you employ one or more cleaning employees
  • your employee(s) are engaged to perform cleaning work in a third party’s premises.

What you need

  • the PDF form – 'Employer registration application – Contract cleaning industry'
  • your ABN
  • your registered business name
  • the business' address and contact details
  • the number of cleaning workers you employ
  • the type of cleaning work.

How to register

  1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Using the contact details on the form, lodge your application by email or post.
  4. Your application will be processed by the Corporation and you'll be advised in writing if it is approved or refused.

More information

  • If your application is approved you'll receive a welcome pack consisting of your certificate of registration and details of your obligations, such as instructions on how to lodge your quarterly returns.
  • If your application is refused you'll be given the right to appeal to the independent Contract Cleaning Industry Long Service Leave Committee.
