Introduction

A tattooist licence allows you to perform body art tattooing procedures in NSW.

The NSW Police Force Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED) will email or post you a renewal form about 60 days before your licence expiry date.

You should lodge your renewal application to the NSW Police Force Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate via post on or before your licence expires.

If your licence has expired you may apply to restore the licence within 3 months of the expiry date. After that, you must reapply for a licence.

Eligibility

People with a current tattooist licence.

What you need

To renew a tattooist licence you need:

  • completed renewal form
  • requested documents (these will be listed in the email or letter sent to you)
  • your payment.

How to renew

  1. Complete the renewal form sent to you.
  2. Gather the requested documents.
  3. Post your renewal form, the requested documents and fee to:
    Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate
    Locked Bag 5099
    Parramatta NSW 2124

Note: If your application is approved, you will keep your existing licence number.
