Surrender a tradesperson certificate

How to surrender your certificate if you're leaving the industry, retiring, moving interstate or your situation has changed.

Introduction

If you no longer need your tradesperson certificate for any reason, you can hand it in at a Service NSW Centre.

To find your tradesperson certificate number and details, visit Verify NSW.

What you need

  • your tradesperson certificate card
  • the PDF form – 'Surrender of Licence/Certificate'.

How to surrender your certificate

  1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  2. Complete the form and attach a copy of your certificate.
  3. To submit the form and certificate visit a service centre.
