Surrender a tradesperson certificate

How to surrender your certificate if you're leaving the industry, retiring, moving interstate or your situation has changed.

Introduction

If you no longer need your tradesperson certificate for any reason, you can hand it in at a Service NSW Centre.

How to surrender your certificate

  1. Check your tradesperson certificate number and details at Verify NSW.
  2. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  3. Complete the Application form – Surrender of licence/certificate – PDF and attach a copy of your certificate.
  4. Take your completed application form and certificate to a Service NSW Centre.
