Introduction

If your business is registered for fuel tax credits, you can use the fuel tax credit calculator to check:

  • the fuel tax credits for the fuel acquired for use in your business, and
  • any adjustments or corrections for fuel tax credits from a previous business activity statement (BAS).

When you make a claim, you'll need to know each fuel type and the amount you acquired, manufactured or imported during the BAS period.

Fuel tax credit rates are indexed twice a year in February and August. The calculator shows the different rates for fuel acquired both before and from the date of each rate increase.

You can use the online calculator or download the ATO app

Visit the Australian Taxation Office to learn more about fuel tax credits and to register online.
