Get early access to the Digital Driver Licence upgrade
Register to upgrade your NSW Digital Driver Licence. The upgraded version gives you stronger security and more control over your information.
We’re starting with a select group of interested NSW residents in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains area. Registering does not upgrade your licence straight away - it lets us contact you when it's your turn.
What's changing with the Digital Driver Licence?
Stronger security
When your Digital Driver Licence is upgraded, we verify your identity to a higher standard. It makes it even harder for someone to gain access to your Digital Driver Licence. This stronger security helps protect you from identity theft and fraud.
New digital sharing
Instead of uploading photocopies of your licence, you can digitally share the information you choose securely from your phone. This helps organisations verify that the details are correct and valid.
More privacy
Stay in control of your information and choose what you share. Over time, the Digital Driver Licence will introduce privacy‑first features, like proving you’re over 18 without revealing your date of birth, address or other personal details.
