Introduction

If you hold a motor dealer, recycler or repairer licence and your notified premises or mobile workshop details have changed, you must notify NSW Fair Trading of a change to your details by email or at a Service NSW Centre:

  • at least 20 business days before using your new premises
  • within 20 business days of ceasing business at your premises.

This includes online motor dealers offering for sale and selling motor vehicles on their website.

'Notified premises' are premises (excluding trade shows) where you intend to carry on a business authorised by your licence including the URL address of an online motor dealer website.

What you need

  • the PDF form – 'Change to Notified Premises'
  • your contact and licence details
  • details on where and when you will start or cease operating your business at the premises.

If applicable:

  • information on the intended use of your new premises or mobile workshop
  • planning approval details for the business use of your premises.

How to change

  1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Submit your completed form at a service centre, or email it to the address specified on the form.

  • Motor dealers conducting business online must:
    • notify NSW Fair Trading of their online business address ( .au domain) at least 20 business days before selling online
    • clearly display their motor dealer licence number on their website,
    • operate under a .au domain
    • maintain an office address and premises for motor vehicle or record storage in New South Wales.
