The hull identification number system, or Boatcode, is a unique numbering system for vessels that deters theft, and helps in the vessel's recovery if it is stolen. Transport for NSW (TfNSW) have established a network of Boatcode agents throughout NSW to validate and affix the hull identification number (HIN) on individual vessels.
