Introduction

A trader's plate renewal invitation is sent to all existing trader's plate holders in late November of each year. All trader's plates have a common expiry date of 31 December.

If you want to renew your plate(s), please visit a Service NSW Centre. If they're not renewed within 3 months of the expiry date, they're automatically cancelled.

What you need

  • your proof of identity
  • your motor industry licence
  • your business or organisation identification
  • the trader's plate(s)
  • compulsory third party (CTP) insurance that specifies trader's plate(s) being renewed (insurance must expire 31 December of the following year)
  • your trader's plate renewal notice.

How to renew

  1. Make sure you have the required documents and your trader's plate(s).
  2. Visit a service centre and provide the information in person.
