Resume your online application or registration – Births, Deaths and Marriages

Introduction

You're able to save and resume the following online Births, Deaths and Marriages applications:

• Birth certificate for a NSW registered birth or adoption
• Change of name certificate
• Death certificate
• Marriage certificate
• Birth registration
• Relationship registration
• Change of name registration – adult
• Change of name registration – child.

What you need

• the email address you entered on your application form.
• the online reference number (ORN) that was provided to you during your application. This ORN was also emailed to the address you supplied on the application form. 

How to resume

1. Go to the section Resume an application or registration on the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages website.
2. Select the relevant certificate option (for example, birth certificate).
3. Enter your email address and ORN to resume.

Note: If you cannot find your ORN, you can retrieve it by selecting 'Forgotten your ORN?', and then entering your name and email address.
