- 1234567X/YYYY remove the letter and enter the 7 digit number ie. 1234567
- 1/234/56/X use the numbers before and after the first slash '/' to make up the 7 digit number. Add 1 zero '0' to the first number group and 2 zeros to the second number group ie. 0100234
Some Western Australia Birth Certificates will show a registration number and district name. District name appears under 'District Name' or 'Name of the town in the district where the birth was registered'. You'll need to use the WA Registration District Code table below to find the 2 digit code for the district name on your Birth Certificate.
