Change to travel permits

From 11 October 2021 you do not need a permit to travel within NSW. Travel restrictions still apply, see the COVID-19 rules for full details.

International travellers

If you're returning to NSW from overseas, you'll be required to spend 14 days in government-arranged hotel quarantine accommodation, at your own cost.

All hotel quarantine for returned travellers is pre-arranged and where you stay is determined on the day of your arrival. You cannot choose your own hotel.

Travellers from New Zealand (South Island)

If you're travelling from New Zealand's South Island you must complete a New Zealand arrival declaration form.

Interstate travellers

Depending on where you have been in the previous 14 days, stay-at-home rules may apply to you when you are in NSW.
