Introduction
If the registration holder of an item of plant has changed, or a fixed item has been relocated, SafeWork NSW must be notified in writing within 14 days.
In the instance of a relocated item of plant, the item must have been inspected by a competent person and assessed as safe to operate.
Eligibility
The registration holder must advise of the changes, and in the case of a change of ownership, either the new or the previous owner.
What you need
- the PDF form – 'Notification of relocation or change of ownership of registered plant'
- the registration number of the plant
- the expiry date of the registration
- the working location of the plant
- details of the new owner (if applicable)
- details of the previous owner (if applicable)
- a completed design engineer's statement for tower crane foundations – PDF (if relocating a tower crane to a worksite).
How to notify
- Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
- Complete the form.
- Email the form with any required supporting documentation using the details on the form.
Note: Changes to registration information other than relocation or change in ownership do not require a form. Written correspondence can be emailed or posted to licensing@safework.nsw.gov.au
More information
A person is competent to inspect an item of plant if they have:
- the relevant educational or vocational engineering qualifications, or
- knowledge of the relevant technical standards.
