Request a search of plant registration records

Introduction

To find out if any of your items of plant, or plant designs have already been registered, you can ask SafeWork NSW to search of their records.

You need to make separate requests if:

• you want plant item and plant design registrations searched, or
• plant items are registered at more than one location.

Eligibility

The registered owner of the plant item or plant design, or their authorised nominee can request a search.

What you need

To request a search of plant registration records you need:

• the PDF form – 'Application to search registered plant item or design records'
• a letter of authority from the registered owner (if applicable)
• the reason for requesting the plant item or design search
• details of the item or design (if known, or applicable), such as:
  • registration number
  • types of item or design
  • serial number or drawing/model number
• working location of the item (if applicable)
• your fee payment.

How to request

1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
2. Complete 'Application to search registered plant item or design records – PDF'.
3. Make your secure payment.
4. Email your application, supporting documents and payment receipt details to the address on the form.
