Introduction

If you'd like to register a public passenger vehicle such as a taxi, bus, hire car or tourist vehicle, you'll need to visit a Service NSW Centre with the required documentation.

What you need

  • your proof of identity
  • proof of registration entitlement
  • compulsory third party (CTP) insurance
  • Vehicle Compliance Certificate from a licensed certifier if the vehicle has been modified
  • copy of the accredited operator's Certificate of Accreditation
  • for a vehicle not registered in the accredited operator's name, a letter from the accredited operator advising that the vehicle operates under that Certificate of Accreditation
  • an original AUVIS/HVAIS inspection report
  • for taxi plates, a valid Transaction Authorisation Letter from the Point to Point Transport Commissioner
  • the PDF form – 'Application for Registration'.

How to register

  1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Gather the required documents.
  4. Take the completed form and required documents to a service centre and submit your application.
