COVID-19 update

NSW Government is closely monitoring the current COVID-19 situation in Sydney. Customers will be able to apply for vouchers when the health advice changes.

Businesses are encouraged to register now to ensure they’re ready to welcome guests when the scheme launches.

Introduction

The NSW Government has launched the Stay & Rediscover Voucher Scheme to support accommodation providers in the City of Sydney area.

Up to 200,000 vouchers worth $100 each will be available for NSW residents to use towards the cost of accommodation bookings. ​

Once approved as a Stay & Rediscover business, you’ll be able to accept and redeem vouchers using the Service NSW for Business app.

Eligibility

To register, you must:

  • have an eligible accommodation business physically located in the City of Sydney local government area (LGA), in one of the following postcodes:
    • 2000
    • 2007
    • 2008
    • 2009
    • 2010
    • 2011
    • 2015
    • 2016
    • 2017
    • 2018 (excluding businesses in the Bayside Council LGA)
    • 2021 (excluding businesses in the Woollahra Council LGA)
    • 2037
    • 2038 (excluding businesses in the Inner West Council LGA)
    • 2042 (excluding businesses in the Inner West Council LGA)
    • 2043
    • 2044 (excluding businesses in the Inner West Council LGA)
    • 2050
  • be authorised to act on behalf of the business​ – listed as an associate or contact on the Australian Business Register
  • have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) that is registered for GST – ensure your details are correct on the Australian Business Register before registering
  • be registered as COVID Safe and have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place – ensure the information you provide on your registration matches the details on your safety plan.

Online accommodation and travel agencies are not eligible for Stay & Rediscover.

Eligible voucher activities

  • Businesses can redeem vouchers for the cost of the room booking only.
  • Vouchers can be used 7 days a week, including public holidays.

Ineligible voucher activities

Businesses can accept vouchers for the cost of the room booking only. The vouchers cannot be redeemed for any other products or services. 

What you need

You'll need:

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
  • 2 personal identity documents such as an Australian driver licence, Medicare card, Australian Passport
  • your business details – ABN, name, address and phone number 
    Note: Your identity document name details must match the name details held with the Australian Business Register for your ABN
  • your business bank account details (to receive your payments).

How to register

  1. Select the ‘Register online’ button.
  2. Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
  3. Follow the prompts to register for the scheme.

You'll receive instant confirmation that your registration has been received. We'll let you know if additional information is needed to support your application.

It may take up to 5 business days for Service NSW to review your registration. 

More information

  • If you have more than one business, you can register each one separately.
  • If your business has more than one location under the same business name and ABN, you can add other locations in your Service NSW Business Profile after you have successfully registered.
  • If your business is accepted into the scheme, you'll need to download the Service NSW for Business app to scan and redeem customer vouchers at check-in.​ Your business can also integrate the Service NSW API with your online booking engine so customers can book, pay for and redeem their accommodation voucher directly on your website​.
  • Successful businesses will be listed on the accommodation finder for people with vouchers to find.
  • You'll be able to keep track of voucher payments to your business in your Service NSW Business Profile. Only the person who registered on behalf of your business will be able to access this information. 
  • Businesses must comply with their COVID-19 Safety Plan at all times.
